Ideas for Christening Receptions

According to customary practice, the main baptismal ceremony follows a grand celebration. This is usually attended by the immediate family, relatives, and close friends. Choosing a venue for the location will require you to find a convenient area, where you can fit just the right number of guests. It is also important to consider the location’s distance from the church and the home, considering that your new bundle of joy should avoid long and stressful trips as much as possible.

When opting for a hotel venue, you may inquire of their available packages and see which one would suit you best for your affair. You can set the mood by having them decorate it with ribbons and baby-coloured balloons – Traditionally blue for a boy and pink for a girl. Another interesting idea for an intimate celebration is to hold outdoor picnics in scenic locations. If, however, you prefer a more personalised setting, you can always opt to hold your celebration in your own home.

Great article and some good tips on finding the perfect christening celebration venue. It’s not an easy decision to make but there are some fantastic venues that dont advertise themselves for christening parties.

We used the Bar at Huntington Stadium in York (now named Bar 13) when we christened our little boy 2 years ago. They had never done a christening party before, but bent over backwards accomodate us. Now I see on their website that they’re offering them to everyone.

I like being a trend setter!
